The stone quarry of Demir Natursteingewinnung GmbH & Co. KG is situated in Schernfeld, in the Eichstätt district of Bavaria’s Altmühl Valley. The Solnhofen Natural Stone business was founded by “Hackstockmeister” Demir Cemalettin in 1992. The company’s headquarters and management are based in the town of Dollnstein.
Every day, highly skilled quarry workers and expert “Hackstockmeister” stone-breakers extract several tonnes of luxurious limestone slabs in various thicknesses and shapes. Thanks to our high production quota, we can even provide large amounts of the sought-after Solnhofen slabs at very short notice.
Demir Natursteine – Premium quality natural limestone
In the stone quarries of Demir Natursteine near Schernfeld in Bavaria, several tonnes of this high-quality limestone are extracted every day. With the help of the company’s experienced quarry workers and so-called “Hackstockmeistern” (Solnhofen quarry’s skilled self-employed stone-breakers) Demir Natursteine oversees the quarrying and extraction of Solnhofen Limestone in slabs of various thicknesses. Our stone can be made available to both national and international customers ex works.
The stone slabs are available in their natural polygonal form (Solnhofen polygons). The Solnhofen Limestone slabs can also be cut to size at our stone supply outlet into tiles or extra-large slabs.
